ACT 1
Fides, Jean's mother and Berthe, Jean's fiancée meets. Jean and Berthe are to be married the next day, but first Berthe have to ask Count Oberthal, her souvereign for permission, instead the Count drags the both women into his castle
ACT 2
The three anabaptist tries to lure Jean into their cause, but Jean is just thinking about his marriage. Eager to see Berthe. Berthe have escaped, but Oberthal demand that Jean release her to him, or else his mother is dead. Jean releases Berthe, now he is ready to become an Anabaptist (a rebel Christian sect thats wishes to overthrow their overlords, like the Count of Oberthal
ACT 3
Jean is the powerful leader. Death is in his trail. Very bloody revolution in Germany.
ACT 4
Fides, who believes her son to be dead, recognize him at his coronation as the new Prophet king. A dangerous, even deadly timing. She has to denouce her son to once again give him life. Berthe has decided to kill the evil Prophet who has killed Jean. Fides is trying to halt Berthe.
ACT 5
Mother and son meet again, She persuads him to leave this wicked life, come home, Jean.
Berthe comes too, But when she find out that her Jean is also he Prophet, she cannot live with that. Suicide. Jean decide to destroy the castle with followers, himself and the detectors too. Fides joins her son.
